What to Expect as Sales Team Lead We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Team Lead to lead revenue growth for our DSD business and we are on a mission to widen the gap between us and our competition. We operate with the energy of a startup and the scale of a market leader, and we’re not slowing down. This role will shape and execute our sales strategy within DSD, drive high-impact partnerships, and lead a high-performing sales organization to exceed ambitious growth targets. And yes, we’re in the ice cream business. Who doesn’t love ice cream? Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Develop and execute a multi-year sales strategy aligned with company growth objectives and market opportunities. Identify and prioritize new market segments, product opportunities, and channel strategies to expand market share and outpace competitors. Partner with cross-functional leadership (Marketing, Product, Finance, Operations) to align sales execution with brand positioning, customer experience, and profitability goals. Revenue Growth & Sales Execution Own delivery of annual and long-term sales targets across all regions and channels. Implement performance metrics, KPIs, and forecasting models to ensure predictable, sustainable growth. Negotiate high-value customer contracts and strategic partnerships to maximize revenue and margin. Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse sales leadership team and broader sales organization. Build a high-performance, accountable, and engaged culture that attracts and retains top talent. Drive ongoing capability development, including sales methodology, negotiation skills, and market knowledge. Market & Customer Insight Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform strategy and adapt to changing market conditions. Leverage data-driven insights to optimize pricing, product mix, and go-to-market approaches. Champion a customer-first mindset across the organization. Qualifications Experience: 12+ years in sales leadership roles, with at least 5 years leading large teams in a complex, multi-channel, and multi-geography environment. Scale: Proven track record managing sales for businesses exceeding $1B in revenue. Industry Expertise: Experience in food manufacturing preferred; ability to quickly learn and navigate industry dynamics. Leadership: Exceptional ability to lead through influence, inspire teams, and drive cultural alignment. Commercial Acumen: Strong grasp of P&L management, sales analytics, and strategic deal-making. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred. Key Competencies Strategic thinking with hands-on execution capability. Data-driven decision-making and analytical rigor. Executive presence and exceptional communication skills. Entrepreneurial drive, resilience, and a high bias for action. Passion for building high-performing teams and fostering growth. The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
