Prince William County is a growing, diverse, and dynamic community seeking a full-time Special Inspections Engineer to support residential and commercial construction projects. The role involves a mix of office and field work, including reviewing construction drawings and performing quality assurance inspections on active construction sites to ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards. Responsibilities Contributing to and inspiring a successful team in a role that blends field and office work Tackling complex technical and process challenges Assisting others and delivering exceptional customer service Reviewing construction drawings and engineering reports Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to help ensure public safety in completed facilities Visiting active construction sites to perform quality assurance inspections Ensuring work is progressing according to the approved plans, building code requirements and County policy and procedures Effective communication with contractors, engineers, and third-party inspectors to ensure code compliance and construction safety Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering 1 year of relevant experience, such as work as a design professional, construction inspector, plan reviewer, or code enforcement inspector Must be certified as an E.I.T.
