This role is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, troubleshooting, and optimizing scalable, high-performance software and product applications across backend and frontend platform. Leveraging industry best practices, the Software & Product Engineer delivers robust, customer-focused solutions that accelerate product innovation. In the near term, this role focuses on Java-based microservices and their migration to independent deployment pipelines, before contributing to component-driven frontend platform development using modern JavaScript frameworks. Responsibilities Assesses and defines software and product requirements, shaping the specifications and standards that guide scalable, high-quality development across backend services and frontend platforms. Designs, develops, and maintains Java-based microservices, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with independent deployment standards and best practices, including the migration of existing services to independent deployment pipelines. Executes coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting across the full software development lifecycle, delivering clean, well-documented code that adheres to team coding standards. Develops and advances software and product capabilities that integrate with design systems, infrastructure, databases, and cloud-based platforms, with the goal of maximizing operational efficiency and supporting long-term scalability. Contributes to frontend platform development using modern JavaScript frameworks, supporting component-driven architecture and scalable UI solutions as backend service maturity evolves. Collaborates with Product Managers, Designers, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions across both backend and frontend domains. Evaluates application requirements and architects database solutions that ensure scalability, performance, and data integrity Who We’re Looking For Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent), required Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field Master's degree (or international equivalent), preferred 2+ years of related experience, required 5+ years of related experience, preferred Experience with Git/GitHub, JIRA, Confluence, CircleCI, required. Experience developing in Agile, SCRUM, or similar iterative methodologies, required. Experience in fast-growing companies or entrepreneurial environments, required. GitHub or Stack Overflow profile demonstrating contributions to open-source or personal projects, required. 2+ years of software or product engineering experience collaborating with Product Managers and Designers in cross-functional teams, required. Strong proficiency in Java and one or more backend frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot), with demonstrated experience building and maintaining production-grade microservices. Hands-on experience with microservices architecture, including service decomposition, independent deployment patterns, and inter-service communication (REST, GraphQL, or event-driven). Proficiency in one or more additional backend or scripting languages such as Python or Node.js, with the ability to work across polyglot environments. Solid understanding of CI/CD pipeline design and DevOps practices, with experience using tools such as CircleCI, GitHub Actions, or equivalent platforms. Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation). Hands-on experience with modern JavaScript and frontend frameworks (Vue.js, React, or equivalent), with the ability to contribute to component-driven frontend development. Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB), including schema design and query optimization. Familiarity with modern testing practices including unit, integration, and API testing, with experience using frameworks such as JUnit, Jest, or equivalent. Ability to travel less than 5% of the time. Must be 18 years of age or older. Must successfully complete pre-employment screening process, as required.
