They are seeking a Software Engineer Intern for Summer 2026 to work collaboratively on real-time projects within the Technology Department, impacting various teams that enhance airline operations through innovative technology solutions. Responsibilities β€’ Analyze, design, write program code, test, document, and implement functionally appropriate, technically sound, and well-integrated application systems in accordance with Customer requirements, and organizational methodologies and standards. β€’ Respond to production problems and implement immediate resolution efforts across technology areas. β€’ Maintain awareness of technology trends in the area of responsibility. β€’ Meet commitments and deliverables related to participating in projects. Skills β€’ Progress towards degree, major, or minor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or Information Technology, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a similar degree. β€’ Must be at least 18 years of age. β€’ You must have a valid U.S. Social Security Number to complete the full hiring process. β€’ Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application. β€’ To be eligible, you must be currently enrolled as a full-time student (as defined by your university) at the time of application and during the internship. β€’ 1-2 semesters remaining at the time the internship ends is preferred. β€’ Experience with cloud technologies, with a preference for AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, S3, and IAM; cloud training or coursework in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. β€’ Experience with scripting and software testing techniques. β€’ Exposure to native app development. β€’ Classroom and/or coursework in software development. β€’ Classroom and/or industry experience using at least one programming language. β€’ Classroom and/or industry experience using Java, API, Node Js, Python, JavaScript, JSON, XML, HTML, CSS, React, Jira, Kafka, GitLab basics, including pipelines and CI/CD concepts. β€’ Exposure to or understanding of event-driven architecture. β€’ Classroom and/or industry experience with React preferred. β€’ Knowledge of Agile or Scaled Agile (SAFe) methodologies. β€’ Basic knowledge of software development methodologies, practices, concepts, technologies, and technical options. β€’ Ability to stay organized and manage multiple and concurrent assignments under tight deadlines. β€’ Previous internship or work experience as a Software Engineer within the past 12 months. β€’ Classroom and/or industry experience delivering presentations in a group setting. β€’ Works well in a culture that is open, direct, respectful, courteous, and compassionate. Education Requirements β€’ High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required. β€’ Progress towards a 4-year undergraduate degree preferred.
