Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Unitedfirm is a premier law firm looking for a dedicated Associate Attorney for a Post-Conviction Relief Attorney position. This role involves managing post-conviction relief cases and collaborating with a team of attorneys and legal assistants. Responsibilities Advise the client on their legal rights in matters and draw up legal documents about their case Responsible for post-conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, motions to reduce, early termination of probation, etc Experience with immigration law is highly desirable, but not required, as this position would have interactions with both criminal and immigration practices Attend motion hearings on behalf of clients and advise clients following each hearing about the best strategies Handle open criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing on behalf of other criminal attorneys within the firm Manage court appearances, drafting motions, interviewing clients, and performing legal research Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents Manage the workload of cases Provide legal analysis for clients to determine any possible case benefits Skills Admitted attorney Previous litigation and/or appellate experience Criminal Defense Experience or Immigration Law Experience Experience handling criminal cases at the state and local level A team player who is open to helping, strategizing, and working with your fellow associates Interpersonal skills of the highest caliber Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred, but not required Experience with immigration law is highly desirable, but not required Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance Excellent compensation package Paid parking Paid time off More Company Overview The United Firm | La Liga Defensora, A.P.C.
