They are seeking a Junior Research Enablement Engineer to work on internal tools for their LanguageAI research team, focusing on building scalable services and applying machine learning methodologies to enhance their translation management application. Responsibilities Architect, design, implement and maintain applications, notebooks, frameworks, scripts, and infrastructure components Work with data to perform, implement, and deploy various machine learning oriented services, frameworks, and scripts Conduct architecture and code reviews Design and implement testing strategies to maximize product quality Help conduct research with other members of the team Skills Fluency in Python Experience with Java or Kotlin Fundamental or better understanding of probability and statistics Know your way around a relational database Familiarity with asynchronous patterns and messaging technologies Familiarity with Design Patterns and making scalable stable systems Understanding of distributed computing principles and algorithms Strong communication and documentation skills BS+ degree in computer science or equivalent experience A home office setup conducive for working remotely, and the ability to work effectively as a remote team member Experience with Data Science tasks Experience with Rust and other languages Experience with NoSQL databases and large data sets Experience with NLP techniques Experience with LLM fine-tuning and prompt engineering Multilingual Benefits 401(k) + company match Health insurance; free medical plan for you and your family Flexible PTO + 11 holidays; generous parental leave Employee referral program and Apple equipment Company Overview Smartling is a language service and technology provider helping customers to localize content across devices and platforms.
