The External Affairs Manager - State Government Relations will support and lead multi-state legislative and regulatory advocacy efforts, developing strategies and building relationships with policymakers to advance community-based and rural health care providers. Responsibilities β€’ Lead multi- state government relations strategies aligned with organizational priorities β€’ Track, analyze, and influence state legislation and regulations β€’ Draft testimony, comment letters, and policy/data briefs β€’ Build relationships with legislators, agencies, coalitions, and members β€’ Represent OCHIN in hearings, workgroups, and advocacy forums β€’ Other duties as assigned Skills β€’ Minimum of 5 years of multi-state government relations experience required β€’ Experience executing multi-state government health care legislative initiatives required β€’ Demonstrated success influencing state policy outcomes β€’ Strong writing and advocacy skills β€’ Skilled at producing high-quality advocacy materials to support state advocacy and member engagement β€’ Prior to moving forward to the team interview, all candidates are required to complete a 50–60-minute competency assessment. The assessment gives us insights into how your strengths, preferences, and work style align with the OCHIN's nine core competencies. It's not about passing or failingβ€”it's about understanding fit and setting you up for success β€’ Travel up to 70% is required for this position β€’ Bachelor's degree preferred β€’ Experience /working knowledge in health information technology highly preferred. Candidates with this experience will be given priority β€’ Experience with community health centers and/or rural hospitals highly preferred.
