About the position The Product Compliance Regulatory Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that all chemical products meet applicable regulatory, environmental, and safety standards across global markets. This position supports cross-functional teams by providing expert guidance on product hazard communication, product labeling, while proactively managing compliance risks and facilitating market access. Responsibilities β€’ Author and maintain SDSs and product labels in compliance with GHS and North American hazard communication regulations (E.g., OSHA, WHMIS, NOM, etc.). β€’ Conduct regulatory reviews for new product development, reformulations, and packaging updates. β€’ Monitor evolving regulations in key markets (e.g., North America, EU, LATAM) and assess impact on product portfolios. β€’ Collaborate with Legal, Marketing, Product Technology and Supply Chain and other cross-functional areas to ensure regulatory alignment across product lifecycles. β€’ Support internal and external audits, customer inquiries, and certification processes. β€’ Assist in developing phased compliance strategies for complex regulatory environments and emerging markets. β€’ Maintain regulatory databases and ensure timely updates to compliance documentation systems. β€’ Identifies and contributes to continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness. β€’ Expected to exercise discretion and independent judgment with matters of significance. β€’ Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager in discussing matters of importance. β€’ Adhere to established company values, practices, policies, and procedures at all times. Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards. β€’ Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location during normal business hours. β€’ Assist with banned/restricted substance regulations, dangerous goods transportation and product exposure/risk assessment documentation. β€’ Participate in industry working groups and regulatory committees. β€’ Support internal training programs on chemical safety and product compliance. Requirements β€’ Demonstrate strong knowledge of chemical regulatory frameworks and consumer goods safety standards. β€’ Use SDS authoring platforms and labeling software (e.g., WERCS, ExESS) proficiently. β€’ Interpret complex regulatory language and technical data. β€’ Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. β€’ Organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. β€’ Demonstrate technical competencies in manufacturing principles, toxicology, environmental health, SDS and label authoring, exposure and life-cycle assessment. β€’ Demonstrate business acumen and an understanding of alignment of business goals. β€’ Demonstrate professional competence as an individual contributor, facilitator and team member to find innovative solutions to solve problems using good judgement. β€’ Operate a computer PC proficiency; ability to use specialized chemical inventory management software. β€’ Effectively and respectfully communicate with co-workers, team members, and internal or external customers. β€’ Interpret technical instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. β€’ Pay attention to details and pursue quality in accomplishing work duties and tasks. β€’ Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. β€’ Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one(s); look for opportunities to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness. β€’ Monitor/Assess performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action. β€’ Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. β€’ Make sure that the work is delivered on time and of high quality. β€’ Develop good work practices to get the job done. β€’ Use equipment, resources, and time in an efficient and effective manner. β€’ Work in a cooperative manner with management, co-workers, internal/external customers, and vendors. β€’ Hybrid/Remote worker must have a reliable high-speed internet connection and a suitable remote workspace. β€’ The individual must be able to walk through office and manufacturing facilities, inside and out, including walking on level and unleveled ground. β€’ Bachelors degree in chemistry, environmental science, regulatory affairs, or related field. β€’ 5+ years of experience in product compliance or regulatory affairs within automotive, chemicals or consumer goods industries. Nice-to-haves β€’ Certification in Regulatory Affairs, CHMM, or equivalent preferred. β€’ Experience in manufacturing, packaging for Retail or Aftermarket products is preferred. Apply tot his job
