Job Description
ASCAP is a membership association representing songwriters, composers, and music publishers. They are seeking a detail-oriented Multi-Territory Analyst to match foreign performance data to ASCAP work records, ensuring accurate and timely payments to members for performances abroad. Responsibilities Research and match foreign-originating performance data to credit the correct entitled ASCAP Writers and Publishers Determine the correct work registration to which a foreign-originating performance should be matched while accounting for any discrepancies caused by local translation issues Resolve any variances or inconsistencies in the data as supplied by the foreign PRO Deploy a variety of online resources in order to make the above determination Consult with RIOT or Repertory team members, when appropriate Create new work records as-needed, properly allocating writer and publisher shares per customary Distribution guidelines Apply any applicable agreements or mandates, if appropriate Identify possible matches, incorrect UNID records, and other mismatches, when encountered Merge duplicate work records that reference the same work Initiate the process to launch an adjustment, when warranted Participate in special projects and contribute to collaborative work, as needed Participate in end-of-the-quarter quality control checks, as directed by the RIOT Team Leaders Skills Bachelor's degree preferred, relevant work experience accepted 1-3 years of relevant working experience Strong computer skills, including experience with MS Word, Excel, and Access Superb critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze and resolve problems using ASCAP data Ability to communicate professionally both in writing and over the phone Efficient time management and prioritization skills (which are essential in order to meet strict distribution deadlines) Ability to learn and effectively utilize a variety of online research tools The following is a plus: proficiency in the PREP Works and Membership modules, facility with Fasttrack, BMI and SESAC websites, and other research tools, such as Allmusic, Discogs, and others, including writer and publisher websites Interest in music, music licensing, and/or music business is preferred Benefits A choice of either network-only provider medical and dental plans or more flexible medical and dental plans where you can see providers in or out-of-network Vision plan that offers both in and out-of-network provider options 401(k) Plan that offers pre-tax, Roth, and an after-tax employee contribution option which includes a company match An additional employer paid discretionary profit share contribution, regardless of your participation in the 401(k) Plan Generous time-off policy 12 company holidays Health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts Short-term disability insurance/salary continuation and long-term disability insurance Company provided basic life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance Employee gym discounts at select gyms Commuter benefits Voluntary pet health insurance Voluntary auto and homeowner’s insurance Voluntary employee, spouse, and dependent life insurance options Voluntary ID protection Coverage Company Overview ASCAP is a performing rights organization of composers, songwriters, lyricists, and music publishers.
