We are seeking a qualified and committed professional to serve as the Motor Vehicle Driver Licensing Services Assistant District Supervisor for our Highlands Service Center located in Lincoln, Nebraska. This position is responsible for managing daily licensing operations, supervising a team of examiners, and ensuring compliance with laws and policies... ________________________________________ Examples of Work • Supervise and manage daily activities of staff across assigned licensing offices. • Conduct personnel functions including performance evaluations, hiring, scheduling, and disciplinary actions. • Act as liaison with county officials, law enforcement, IT vendors, and state agencies. • Ensure proper issuance of licenses and ID cards; make final determinations on questionable documents. • Provide training to staff on driver licensing processes, systems, and regulation updates. • Perform the duties of a Driver License Examiner as needed. • Oversee accounting room duties, including cash handling, reconciling receipts, and preparing daily bank deposits. • Diagnose and report system malfunctions; coordinate with IS Division and vendors for resolution. • Conduct CDL and motorcycle skills testing audits. • Utilize and monitor lobby management systems to manage customer flow and service time. • Support and coordinate security systems to ensure safety and compliance at the service center. • Prepare administrative reports including staffing calendars, inventory submissions, and complaint investigations. Requirements / Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: Six months driver licensing experience and experience working with the public in a customer service capacity or working with motor vehicle laws. Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma/GED or Associate’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Human Resources, or related field. Two years of experience in driver licensing, including supervisory or lead worker responsibilities. Experience with DMV systems, Microsoft Office, and digital testing and licensing equipment. Training or experience in fraud detection or document authentication. Excellent driving record and valid Nebraska Driver License. Other: Possession of a valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record is required. Must successfully complete state-approved defensive driving course within first month of employment. Must successfully complete the agency’s Driver License Examiner training, which includes but is not limited to federal CDL requirements, Fraud Detection and Remediation Training, and Customer Service. CDL recertification training is required every 3 years. Some positions may require the incumbent to be bilingual. Some positions may require overnight travel. Knowledge, Skills, and Business Knowledge of state and federal driver licensing laws and regulations. Ability to supervise and develop staff effectively. Proficiency in computer systems and troubleshooting hardware/software. Strong attention to detail for cash handling and recordkeeping. Effective communicator and public liaison; capable of conflict resolution and complaint handling. Organizational skills for scheduling, timekeeping, and compliance reporting.
