Job Description

Support Delta’s Safety Management System by analyzing flight safety data and collaborating across teams to mitigate safety risks. Your Role Key responsibilities include: • Supporting continuous monitoring of safety-of-flight risks and executing Flight Operations Safety Risk Assessments using flight safety data sources. • Conducting research and performing analyses on flight data, pilot reports, fatigue reports, damage or injury data, and other operational and safety data. • Becoming familiar with frontline work groups, especially pilots, and collaborating with Flight Safety, Corporate Safety, and Flight Operations teams to advance safety initiatives. • Supporting all Flight Safety programs including accident and incident investigations, Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA), Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP), Pilot Fatigue Risk Management, and Safety Promotion. • Representing Delta Flight Safety at select internal and external safety meetings to communicate safety insights and strengthen organizational safety culture. About You The company is looking for: • Full-time undergraduate student enrolled in a 4-year academic institution with at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale. • Availability to work full-time for 3 alternating semesters: Fall 2026, Summer 2027, and Spring 2028, without taking courses during co-op semesters. • Ability to work onsite in Atlanta, GA for the duration of the co-op. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Project management and personal management skills. • Consistent prioritization of safety and security of self, others, and personal data. • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles. • Possession of a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. • At least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States. Preferred qualifications include: • Degree specialization in Aviation. • Valid passport and ability to travel up to 20% for company business. • Flight experience or experience with analytics or data science. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook. • Highly motivated with a desire to learn and a passion for safety.
