Dillon Consulting Limited is a Canadian employee-owned professional consulting firm specializing in planning, engineering, environmental science, and management. They are seeking an Electrical Designer β Lighting and Traffic Signals to contribute technical expertise on multi-disciplinary projects, including the design of traffic signals and illumination while providing integrated customer experiences. Responsibilities Contribute to the technical expertise on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects including: Design of traffic signals and illumination Prepare lighting and traffic signal layouts Prepare wiring diagrams and electrical details Photometric analysis of lighting systems Design of low voltage electrical distribution design for subdivisions Voltage drop calculations Prepare contract documents and specifications Site visits and contract administration Coordinate a variety of multi-disciplinary projects for both public and private sector clients Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring Contribute to Dillonβs corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees Skills A degree in electrical engineering Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in Ontario, or eligible to be licensed within six months A minimum of 1-4 years of professional experience, preferably in the consulting industry Proven experience in the design of traffic signals and illumination Knowledge of AGi32 and other lighting calculation programs Knowledge of various municipal and MTO lighting and traffic signal design standards Knowledge of MTO Contract Preparation System (CPS) Knowledge of ANSI/IES, Transportation Association of Canada standards and Ontario Electrical Safety Code as they relate to lighting and traffic signals Strong abilities in project management/coordination Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are essential IMSA Certifications in Traffic Signal Level I and Level II Design, Roadway Lighting Technician Level I and Level II are considered an asset Benefits Employee share purchase plan Comprehensive health benefits Generous retirement savings plan Student loan repayment assistance with matching employer contributions Flexible work hours and hybrid working options Learning and Development opportunities Focus on Innovation Employee and Family Assistance program Goodlife Fitness Corporate Membership Wellness Subsidy Company Overview Dillon is a proudly Canadian, employee-owned, professional consulting firm with over 1,100 employees specializing in planning, engineering, environmental science and management.
