DreamWorks Animation is seeking a software engineer for our Lighting and Look Dev Tools team. The role involves building new tools to facilitate studio-specific workflows, improving pipeline efficiency, and collaborating closely with artists in animated film production. Responsibilities Build new tools to facilitate studio specific workflows and improve pipeline efficiency Respond to feedback from artists to improve internal toolsets Work with artists to determine problem areas in the pipeline and build solutions Improve and maintain existing internal toolsets Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field 1+ years' experience in software development Python and/or C++ software development experience Experience with Houdini and other industry standard DCC (digital content creation) tools Knowledge of computer graphics concepts and algorithms Experience with object-oriented software design Experience with UI development using Qt or equivalent UI toolset Ability to work closely with end users and engineers Attention to detail and strong communication skills Master's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field Professional experience in a VFX or animation studio Experience with USD, Hydra delegates, and its usage in feature production pipelines Experience with GPU accelerated graphics and compute methods Experience with collaborative software development and source control (such as Git) Experience with UNIX/Linux programming environments Benefits Medical, dental and vision insurance 401(k) Paid leave Tuition reimbursement A variety of other discounts and perks Company Overview DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. engages in the development, production, and exploitation of animated films and associated characters It is a sub-organization of NBCUniversal.
