The role focuses on deep technical problem solving, solution engineering, and cross‑functional technical leadership, ensuring digital manufacturing systems are robust, scalable, secure, and aligned to enterprise standards. As a senior individual contributor within Enterprise IT, this position is responsible for the technical design, development, integration, and performance optimization of Smart Factory and Digital Transformation solutions. The role collaborates with architects, engineering teams, product owners, and vendors to drive adoption of modern technologies, influence architectural direction, and ensure manufacturing applications meet operational and reliability requirements. Ideal candidates bring expert level knowledge across multiple technical domains, including: · Manufacturing IT applications and automation systems · Enterprise systems integration (ERP / MES / SCADA / IIoT) · Networks, compute, and edge infrastructure · Cybersecurity principles and OT security · SCADA / PLCs and plant‑floor control systems (preferred) · Supply chain systems, material flow, and inventory processes This position may require occasional international travel. General Objective · Serve as a senior technical authority for Smart Factory and Digital Transformation initiatives · Develop engineering designs, prototypes, and technical specifications · Influence enterprise architecture through deep technical expertise rather than direct management · Lead complex problem investigations and technical escalations · Drive continuous improvement in system performance, reliability, and maintainability · Guide engineering teams through mentorship, technical coaching, design reviews, development and testing · Represent Digital Transformation engineering in strategic discussions with leadership and the Smart Factory COE Specific Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Execution · Provide forward‑thinking technical leadership for the design and implementation of Smart Factory and digital manufacturing systems · Identify and eliminate obsolete practices, champion automation, standardization, and efficiency · Translate business and operational needs into practical, scalable technical solutions · Serve as a key technical lead in cross‑functional project teams · Define and maintain technical depth across application, integration, infrastructure, and security domains · Review solution feasibility, performance impacts, and long‑term architectural alignment Systems Engineering & Solution Design · Conduct in‑depth technical analysis of system issues and ensure stable operations of digital manufacturing systems · Maintain a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and digital workflows · Lead technical design sessions and architecture‑aligned engineering discussions · Produce system designs, engineering documentation, test strategies, and deployment plans · Ensure adherence to enterprise development standards, cybersecurity requirements, and operational best practices Technical Responsibilities · Develop high‑level and low‑level technical specifications · Create and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and validation / test procedures · Lead system, integration, and performance testing activities · Create engineering standards understandable from plant‑floor teams to senior leadership · Collaborate with global plant teams to design secure, resilient, and cost‑efficient manufacturing systems · Contribute to architectural roadmaps and long‑term Digital Transformation strategies · Maintain deep knowledge of emerging technologies including IIoT, analytics, automation, edge computing, and AI / ML · Manage technical interactions with vendors and solution partners · Evaluate and optimize lifecycle management of Digital Transformation systems Education & Experience · Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred) · Extensive experience delivering IT solutions supporting manufacturing, OT, and digital operations · Expertise across multiple architecture domains and plant‑level technologies · Strong understanding of cybersecurity, integration patterns, and Smart Factory infrastructure · Excellent communication, technical writing, and stakeholder engagement skills About Us Rehlko proudly offers a rich history steeped in creativity and commitment to our associates and communities, along with competitive benefits and compensation.
