Job Description

Reports To: VP, Marketing Strategy | Direct Reports: Lead Social Commerce Strategist; Shop Operations Lead Location: Remote (US-Based) | Type: Full-Time About the Role We work with emerging and fast-scaling consumer brands — the kind people actually get excited about — and creator commerce is central to how we help them grow. We’re looking for a Director to lead this practice: someone who builds strong teams, owns the division’s financial performance, and brings the strategic depth to shape where creator commerce goes next for the agency. This is a leadership role, not an account role — your job is to make the practice excellent, and the people under you successful. What You’ll Own Practice Revenue & P&L Own the financial performance of the Creator Commerce division — revenue forecasting, margin management, and accountability for the division’s overall profitability. Develop pricing models, performance fee structures, and service tier frameworks that reflect the value of what the team delivers and protect the agency’s margins as the practice scales. Identify investment opportunities in platforms, tools, and capabilities; make clear, evidence-based recommendations to leadership on where to put resources. Team Leadership & Development Lead a management team across Creator Marketplace, Shop Operations, and Affiliate Activation — setting clear direction, maintaining high standards, and creating an environment where your managers can do their best work. Develop the leaders under you. Set expectations, provide coaching, and build a team culture defined by accountability, craft, and a genuine interest in the brands and creators this practice serves. Own the practice’s hiring plan and org design — building the team structure that supports growth without creating unnecessary complexity. Operational Infrastructure Build the systems, standards, and processes that allow the practice to operate at scale — from creator vetting philosophy and briefing standards to rights management workflows and payment infrastructure. Ensure the practice has the right operational foundation so execution doesn’t depend on any single person and quality doesn’t slip as volume grows. Agency Strategy & New Business Contribute to new business as the agency’s senior voice on creator commerce — shaping how the practice is positioned, scoped, and priced for prospective clients. Partner with the VP of Marketing Strategy on annual planning, capability roadmap, and technology investments that keep the agency ahead in this space. Find the white space: identify where we can build something durable — whether through proprietary creator data, platform relationships, or new service lines — that compounds over time. Who You Are You’ve built something before — a practice, a team, a business unit — and you know what it takes to get from scrappy to structured without losing momentum. You come from affiliate marketing, creator commerce, or e-commerce, and you have a clear-eyed understanding of how content drives transactions and how to prove it with numbers. You lead with clarity. Your teams know what they’re accountable for, how success is measured, and where they’re empowered to make calls. You build systems that outlast your direct involvement, and you develop managers who get stronger over time. You’re a sharp commercial thinker who is also genuinely excited about the brands and creators in this space. The work we do sits at the intersection of culture and commerce — and the best person for this role finds that interesting, not incidental. Qualifications Required 8+ years in performance or growth marketing, with 2+ years in creator commerce, social commerce, or affiliate and at least 3 years in a leadership role managing managers and owning division-level outcomes. Demonstrated experience building or scaling a creator commerce practice, department, or business unit, including hiring, structuring teams, and standing up operational systems. Solid understanding of the social commerce ecosystem — TikTok Shop, affiliate mechanics, creator economics, and GMV-driven business models — sufficient to set strategy and evaluate performance without being the one executing it. P&L ownership experience: forecasting revenue, managing costs, building pricing models, and communicating financial performance to senior leadership. A track record of developing managers and building teams that perform consistently, not just in bursts. Comfortable contributing to new business pitches and client budget development in an agency or consultative setting. Preferred Prior agency experience, especially in performance marketing, social commerce, or a creator-focused practice. Familiarity with AI-assisted or offshore execution models for creator operations at scale. Background in live commerce or proprietary creator marketplace development. Existing relationships with TikTok Shop, Meta, or other key platform partners.
