They are seeking a Classification & Certification Unit Analyst who will provide technical expertise and assistance to department staff while performing analytical and technical classification and certification work. Responsibilities Analyzing technical personnel management duties related to the classification and certification functions Providing technical expertise, training, guidance, and assistance to Department staff Performing analytical and technical classification and certification work using a high degree of independent judgment Acting as a back-up analyst to peers Knowledge of the hiring and appointment process in accordance with California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) Screening applicants for minimum qualifications and interpreting and applying salary rules appropriately Providing consultation to Managers, Supervisors and Program staff on a myriad of Classification and Certification inquiries Skills Applicants must include a Supplemental Questionnaire (SQ) for this recruitment Applications without an SQ or include an SQ that does not directly answer all the items below will not be considered Require Name on SQ Require Job Control Number on SQ Maximum number of pages: 1, Arial 12 pt font, single-spaced The document shall be titled 'Supplemental Questionnaire - (your Full Name) and JC #' In one page or less, please respond to the following: Describe an experience where you explained complex personnel or human resources-related information to staff or management who were unfamiliar with the topic.
