All Jobs > Scrum Master Civix Apply Scrum Master Fully Remote Apply Description Role Overview The Scrum Master is a servant leader responsible for enabling high-performing agile teams delivering government-facing software products. This role ensures Agile and Scrum principles are effectively applied while navigating the unique regulatory, security, and stakeholder needs of public-sector technology environments. You will coach teams, remove impediments, foster continuous improvement, and partner closely with Product Owners, Engineering, UX, and government stakeholders to deliver value safely, predictably, and transparently. Key Responsibilities Agile Delivery & Team Enablement Facilitate Scrum events (Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives) in a fully remote environment Coach one or more cross-functional teams on Agile and Scrum best practices Promote self-organizing, accountable, and outcome-focused teams Ensure transparency through effective use of Agile tools, metrics, and reporting Release Management Partner with Product Owners and Client Support to track a weekly release cadence and what goes into each release Collaborate with development and management to support the process for smooth, efficient releases Stakeholder Collaboration Partner with Product Owners to support backlog refinement, prioritization, and clear acceptance criteria Collaborate with management stakeholders to support sprint reviews, planning, and delivery expectations Help bridge communication between technical teams and non-technical public-sector partners Impediment Removal & Continuous Improvement Identify, escalate, and remove blockers affecting delivery, quality, or team health Facilitate retrospectives and support actionable improvement plans Foster a culture of psychological safety, learning, and continuous improvement Governance, Compliance & Quality Support compliance with government standards, security policies, and accessibility guidelines (e.g., Section 508, security reviews, documentation requirements) Ensure Agile practices align with organizational governance and delivery frameworks Promote predictable delivery while maintaining agility in regulated environments Requirements Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach Strong knowledge of Scrum, Agile, and Lean principles Experience supporting software development teams (engineering, UX, QA, product) Experience with Azure DevOps boards, queries, and backlog management Comfortable working with remote, distributed teams Excellent facilitation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills Preferred Qualifications Experience working in GovTech, public sector, or highly regulated industries Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I/II, or equivalent) Understanding of accessibility, security, or compliance requirements in government projects Experience supporting multiple teams or scaled Agile environments Familiarity with Azure Devops Pipelines and Libraries Apply View All Jobs Powered by Payroll & HR Software
