David Evans and Associates, Inc. is actively seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Designer to join their Transit and Rail Group. This role involves construction document production, computer-aided design, modeling, and project delivery focused on transit and rail projects, contributing to the advancement of sustainable transportation solutions. Responsibilities Support our Transit and Rail Group with the production of drawings, layouts, maps, corridor and 3D modeling, and graphic representations of engineering designs using Bentley OpenRoads / OpenRail.CADD tasks to support the development of railroad terminal, railroad capacity, transit and highway projects Maintain, develop and direct efficient workflows within client specific CADD standards and workspaces Develop concept plans and construction plan sets including site layout, track, grading, drainage, utilities, and roads Create design details, schematics, and engineering specifications Collaborate with other project teams, such as structural, architectural, and geotechnical Prepare quantity and cost estimates Perform other duties as assigned Skills Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction science or Associate degree in Engineering Technology / CAD Experience reading and understanding construction drawings and engineering concepts Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Comfortable working on fast-paced projects Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and communication tools Engineer-in-Training (EIT) license or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment Interest in transit and rail projects Experience with 3D design software Bentley OpenRoads / OpenRail and document management infrastructure such as ProjectWise 11-3 years' experience, industry related particularly with civil design and drafting of rail and related projects Benefits Career Development Kick-Start Grant Program Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance Vacation/Sick/Holiday Pay 401k Flexible 9/80 (every other Friday off) work schedule Company Overview Since its founding in 1976 in Portland, Oregon, DEA has become a recognized leader for progressive and sustainable design and management solutions for complex transportation, land development, energy, and water projects nationwide.
