The salary for this role is £45,000 This role is advertised on a 12 month fixed term contract with the possibility of extension. As an Azure DevOps Engineer, you’ll design and manage DevOps pipelines across PaaS-based Azure environments, embedding secure-by-design principles and meeting industry and government security standards. You’ll work closely with development, operations, and security teams to deliver automated, secure, and scalable services, while supporting live and non-production platforms. The role includes 3rd-line support, break-fix and out-of-hours cover on a shift basis, platform optimisation, and providing hands-on technical support to development teams. Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include Deploying, monitoring, maintaining and improving our Azure platform Providing timely and efficient break-fix support to resolve system issues and minimise downtime in line with Service Level Agreements including out-of-hours. Monitoring system performance, availability, and capacity, perform infrastructure as code optimisation to ensure cost efficiency and reliable service. Providing 3rd line support for live Azure Platform services, addressing complex issues and coordinating with internal teams to maintain service uptime. Delivering and supporting the customers’ infrastructure requirements for service enhancements and new projects. Leveraging deep expertise in Microsoft Azure’s IaaS, PaaS and SaaS offerings to design, implement, and managing cloud-based solutions that align with business and technical needs. Designing, building, and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with design partners, enabling faster, more reliable software releases. Implementing best practices for version control, continuous integration, and code review processes. Using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or terraform to provision and manage Azure cloud resources. Ensure consistent, secure, and reproducible infrastructure deployments. Implementing security best practices and align infrastructure with compliance frameworks such as the Azure Security Benchmark, CIS benchmark, NIST, NCSC. Configuring real-time monitoring and alerting within Azure to gain insights into application performance and system health. Set up proactive alerts to respond to any incidents and anomalies promptly. Fostering strong relationships with software development, testing, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of DevOps practices. You may be required to undertake other duties assigned by your line manager as appropriate
