As an adjunct faculty member, you’ll provide program instruction in an online format, incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies and other industry trends reflecting advancements in your discipline. Grand Canyon University is in search of a new Online Adjunct Instructor who is qualified to instruct the courses listed below. ESD-501: Foundations in Elementary and Special Education Graduate Studies "Teacher candidates survey the philosophical, historical, and sociological influences upon which educational theories and practices are constructed, and explore a variety of the common issues, trends, and opportunities that professional educators face in the field. Teacher candidates prepare for the graduate learning experience at Grand Canyon University by developing and strengthening the skills necessary to succeed as graduate students, including graduate level writing and research." ESD-530: Instructional Planning and Assessment in the Inclusive Classroom "Teacher candidates build foundational knowledge of planning instruction and assessment strategies designed to meet the needs of all students in an inclusive setting. Teacher candidates examine instructional planning based on the curriculum, knowledge of students, assessment data, learning theory, use of technology, and connections across the community. Formal and informal assessment strategies for planning, evaluating, and strengthening instruction for K-12 students are also examined." ESD-585: Methods for Teaching Social Studies and the Arts in the Inclusive Classroom "Teacher candidates examine a variety of instructional strategies to encourage learners to develop deep understanding of the major concepts and modes of inquiry from the integrated study of history, geography, the social sciences, and other related areas. Teacher candidates build foundational knowledge on promoting students’ abilities to make informed decisions as citizens of a culturally diverse democratic society and interdependent world. Teacher candidates integrate the content, functions, and achievements of the performing and visual arts as primary media for communication, inquiry, and engagement among students." Responsibilities: Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance, and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession. Other main responsibilities include the following: Facilitate weekly main discussion forums to engage students in the online classroom. Adhere to weekly grading requirements, deadlines, and timeframes. Respond to students’ questions and emails within the established timeframes. Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University. Qualifications: Please read carefully and ensure you meet qualifications before submitting your application. Preferred: Doctorate in Special Education or Doctorate in Elementary Education or Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction or Doctorate in Learning and Teaching or Doctorate in Educational Psychology or Doctorate in Psychology. Minimum: Masters in Special Education or Masters in Elementary Education or Masters in Curriculum and Instruction AND 2 areas of exceptional expertise. All instructors must have a minimum of five years of experience as special education and/or elementary classroom teacher or instructional specialist or 1-8 team lead or 1-8 department chair or curriculum coach or new teacher mentor of 1-8 teachers AND At least six graduate credits in educational psychology or human development or child psychology or credits of methods/strategies/characteristics/curriculum planning for students with mild to moderate disabilities. #ESD #SPED #ELM #ChristianEducation #Inclusion #Online #Remote #Adjunct #INDLOPESUP
